Chief Elevator Inspector Supervisor
State of Tennessee – Department of Labor & Workforce Development
Chris Farmer started as an Elevator Apprentice in 1994. He also developed his own electrical company a few years after that and ran his business until 2003 when he then became an Inspector for the State of Tennessee.
About 10 years after working as a State Inspector he was promoted to the Assistant Chief of the Elevator Unit and performed those duties for two years. Due to his hard work and dedication he was quickly promoted to the Chief Elevator Inspector Supervisor, which is still his title today. He manages and continues to train 26 State Inspectors daily to ensure that they are keeping the public, citizens and employees of Tennessee safe while using conveyances daily.
