Senator Mark Pody Tennessee General Assembly
In 2009, Mark Pody began his legislative career by running as a Republican candidate for District 46 State House of Representatives. In 2011 he was sworn in by the State of Tennessee.
He is a past member of the Tennessee General Assembly where he served as State Representative representing Cannon, and parts of Dekalb and Wilson Counties. He served in Public Office as Member of the House Consumer & Human Resources Sub and Insurance and Banking Committee and the Vice Chair of Consumer and Human Resource Full Committee in the 110th Tennessee General Assembly.
He was honored in 2012 with the Friend of Business Award by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. He was also honored with the Child Advocacy Award from the 15th Judicial District in 2015 for his dedication to helping victims of child abuse. In 2017 he was honored with the Omicron Delta Kappa Honorary from Cumberland University.
He is State Senator of District 17 serving Cannon, Dekalb, Wilson, Macon, Clay and Smith Counties, and serves on various committees involving Transportation & Safety, Energy Agriculture & Natural Resources, and Judiciary and Government Operations.
When he is not working at the Capitol and in his insurance business, he is doing what he loves best, being a husband, and grandfather to twelve grandchildren.
